The Joystick Encoder 8 Position is used in ultrasound and other Digital Imaging (DI) healthcare devices. It is mounted in the operator panel of the machine and helps in scanning display functions. The touch panel and joystick rotary control arrangement comes together, and it is used in selecting the overlay of three dimensional dataset onto the ultrasound image. Pushing the overlay (joystick rotary controls) key provides a quick way to switch between all 2D ultrasound, 3D dataset or combination of both. Rotating this varies the relative weighting between the ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance (MR) or Computed Tomography (CT) images. It is also used in adjusting the brightness, contrast levels and other window adjustments. This assembly consists of joystick encoder, a ribbon cable, connectors and M17 x 1mm threaded bushing. It uses optical technology encoder on a 0.25 inch shaft to get 20 detent positions with A and B quadrature outputs and an integrated 8 position joystick with the same shaft. The connection to the circuit board is via ribbon cable and connectors. The end product comes with smooth finishing without any burrs, sharp edges, surface blemishes, sink marks and flash marks.
